Tunde Deru is the Principal at Project Development Solutions {PDS) where he provides strategic business and project solutions to the energy sector in the USA and Africa. Before starting PDS, Mr. Deru was the Sales Director for GlassPoint Solar Inc., where he developed and drove its strategic growth in California’s Oil and Gas Industry, resulting in a partnership with Aera Energy to build the largest, and first-of-its-kind integrated solar steam and electricity project in the state – Belridge Solar. Before GlassPoint, Tunde established and managed the Project Management Organization {PMO) for Berry Petroleum Inc., California’s fifth-largest oil producer. At the PMO, Mr. Deru successfully managed $400 million CAPEX projects which enabled Berry to achieve its five-year strategic plan.

Tunde has more than two decades of sales and project management experience in telecommunications and construction industries. He has execution experience in the oil and gas, renewables industry and has also held various technical and leadership roles at Processes Unlimited (now Stantec) and Schlumberger. Tunde is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and is actively involved with the Project Management Institute (PMI) where he has served as President of the PMI California Central Valley Chapter. He is also on the Career Technical Advisory Board for Industrial Automation at Bakersfield College.

Blair Pruett is a seasoned executive and founder with extensive experience in energy sector innovation, specializing in microgrid development and implementation. As the Founder of Cal Microgrids and former Director of Project Origination and Development at Concentric Power, Blair has led significant energy efficiency projects across the Southern San Joaquin Valley, including the notable Tasteful Selections Microgrid in Arvin, California. His expertise spans industrial sales, structural steel fabrication, and large-scale energy infrastructure development.

With a career spanning over four decades, Blair has contributed to high-profile projects in various industries, including aviation, amusement parks, and renewable energy. His deep industry knowledge and leadership have been instrumental in advancing sustainable energy solutions and fostering industrial technology education. Blair actively serves on multiple educational and advisory boards, supporting workforce development and research initiatives in the energy sector.

Blair holds a B.A. in Industrial Arts and Technology from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo (Cal Poly), and an A.A. in Industrial Arts from Bakersfield Junior College. His commitment to education and innovation is reflected in his involvement with institutions such as Bakersfield College, California State University Bakersfield (CSUB), and the California Renewable Energy Laboratory (CREL).

Benedict “Ben” Okoro

Ben Okoro is the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) Manager at Project Development Solutions (PDS). He provides engineering, project management, and execution solutions for projects to our clients within the energy sector in the USA.
Before joining PDS, Mr. Okoro was Facilities Engineering (FE) Regional Manager with Chevron in Houston, TX. He was responsible for deploying and assessing the FE-sponsored corporate standards and processes at five (5) business units in the US, Africa, and Latin America. Before that, he was Manager of the FE Division for Chevron in Lagos, Nigeria, where he provided strategic leadership and engineering support to the asset teams, major capital project teams, and operations and managed the division’s annual budget, which was in the $250-$350 million range. Mr. Okoro was the construction superintendent at Chevron’s 2.6 million barrels capacity Escravos Terminal in Nigeria and provided construction support to the project teams and operations in the asset areas.

Mr. Okoro led the FE Team in revamping surface production facilities, steam generators, and the installation of new gas and water treatment plants in San Ardo Field in Bakersfield, CA, from 2003 through mid-2006 before assuming the role of Construction Superintendent in Nigeria. Mr. Okoro participated in executing several strategic projects during his career with Chevron. This included FEED and detailed design activities at contractor offices and fabrication yards in Nigeria, Houston, TX, New Orleans, LA, and London, UK, and installation of facilities in the field. The projects include Opuekeba, Olero, and Dibi, adding over 150,000 BPD in the onshore area, and the 365 million standard cubic feet per day Escravos Gas Project (EGP1).

Jesus “Jess” Bernardo

Jesus Bernardo is a project advisor at Project Development Solutions {PDS). He leads interdisciplinary construction trades and provides direction in construction, safety management, and project management.

Mr. Bernardo has over three decades of global experience in technicalities and building in the oil and gas, renewables, and construction industries. He has been involved in project controls and construction and project management of pharmaceutical plant facilities, chemical plant facilities, and international airports in the USA, Philippines, and Singapore.

Before PDS, Jesus worked with Cenergy International Services. At Cenergy, he managed the construction of oil and gas infrastructure projects and pre-planning, and commissioning facilities projects. Before Cenergy, Jesus collaborated with the Los Angeles Union School District (LAUSD) project team to execute the Los Angeles District school projects as superintendent and assistant project manager at Enterprise Construction Inc.

Jesus holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Central Luzon Polytechnic College.

Gbemi Oluseyi Deru is the Business Manager at Project Development Solutions (PDS), where she is responsible for human resources, payroll, marketing, accounting, and day-to-day administration of the organization. Gbemi has over two decades of experience in business management and organizational development. She has proven and tested business analytics, communication, and teambuilding skills which she deploys to improve business practices.

Before PDS, she managed Purple Linen Apparel- a garment manufacturing business for ten years, Iconic Foods LLC- a food manufacturing business for eight years, and Cowry Creek Apparel for six years. She held various leadership positions in these organizations including human resources, operations, and production.

Gbemi has a BSc. Degree in Geography and Planning from the University of Lagos, a Master’s in Business Administration- MBA degree from California State University Bakersfield (CSUB). She is a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and an ITIL v4 ServiceNow professional. management, marketing.

Dominic Torres

Dominic Torres obtained a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from California State University, Bakersfield. He works for Project Development Solutions (PDS) as a Project Engineer where he provides the necessary skills to assist with the development and coordination of project scoping documentation. With his expertise in Solar PV projects, he prepares energy stimulationand reports detailing energy modeling results and design advice to coordinate project budgets, objectives, schedules, and deliverables for assigned development projects.

Torres arranges and organizes regularly scheduled meetings, communicates construction statuses, and updates the construction project schedule, budget, and cash forecast. He supports the creation and improvement of development and construction management tools and processes for assigned projects.

Alyssa Kinkade

Alyssa obtained a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from California State University, Bakersfield (CSUB). Alyssa works with coordinating electrical and civil projects, and she assists in communicating energy conservation measures (internal and external audiences), for internal reporting team members to assist them in making informed decisions. She assists in financial models and PowerPoint presentations in team meetings.

Additionally, she specializes in Solar PV designs where she performs energy simulation analysis and delivers model results at a fast pace, while also preparing reports detailing energy modeling results and design advice. Effectively to both technical and non-technical project architectural designs with discipline leads.

Vidal Barrera

Role: Senior Designer

Vidal Barrera is an experienced Electrical and Controls Designer with extensive expertise in electrical design, instrumentation, and automation. With a background in power distribution systems, including 12kV and 480V networks, he has contributed to numerous industrial, energy, and municipal projects. Vidal has worked on designing MCC elevations, control schematics, loop diagrams, PLC panel layouts, and SCADA system upgrades for a variety of industries.

Throughout his career, Vidal has collaborated with leading energy companies such as Aera Energy, Chevron, Oxy Oman, Kuwait Oil Company, and ConocoPhillips. His expertise includes developing lighting and grounding plans, area classifications, and instrumentation designs for complex projects. He has also played a key role in designing and drafting plans for SCADA system upgrades and VFD layouts.

Vidal’s technical skills extend to Rockwell Software Programming, RSLogix, and Wonderware, allowing him to develop and optimize automation solutions. His ability to integrate software solutions with electrical systems makes him a valuable asset in industrial automation and control projects.

His leadership and design capabilities have supported projects in oil & gas, water and wastewater management, food and beverage, and industrial processing. With a deep understanding of electrical design principles and industry standards, Vidal continues to drive innovation and efficiency in the field.

Andrez Bernal

Andrez Bernal is a Mechanical Engineer with expertise in CAD design, engineering software, and technical project management. He has extensive experience in designing, modeling, and optimizing mechanical systems, utilizing a range of engineering tools, including SOLIDWORKS, Fusion 360, Autodesk Inventor, MATLAB, Python, and C++.

Andrez has led multiple engineering projects, including the design of a Human-Powered Vehicle (HPVC) in collaboration with ASME, an HVAC system for a commercial building, and an innovative razor drying system. His contributions span CAD modeling, load calculations, programming, manufacturing, and technical documentation. With strong leadership and project planning skills, Andrez has coordinated teams, managed budgets, and delivered detailed technical reports.

Before joining Project Development Solutions (PDS), Andrez honed his skills in engineering design, automation, and energy systems, gaining hands-on experience in fabrication, load analysis, and system optimization. His ability to integrate advanced engineering solutions with practical applications makes him an asset in technical development and problem-solving.

Andrez holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from San Jose State University. His expertise in mechanical design, HVAC engineering, and automation continues to support PDS in delivering cutting-edge solutions for energy and industrial projects.

Christian Cuevas

With a background in historical writing and community outreach, Christian brings a strategic approach to crafting compelling narratives for grant applications and business development initiatives.

Before joining PDS, Christian served as the Kern Regional Community Consultant for the California Resources Corporation (CRC) Community Affairs Department, where he engaged with local communities to explain CRC’s projects and successfully authored and coordinated five grant applications for CRC’s carbon management ventures. Prior to that, he worked with the Kern Community College District’s California Renewable Energy Laboratory (CREL) initiative as a Community Outreach Coordinator, forging partnerships with the Kern High School District’s Energy Academies and developing Community Benefit Plans for major grant applications.
Christian also has experience in emergency management, having served as an Emergency Disaster Manager for the United Farm Workers Foundation (UFWF) during the COVID-19 pandemic, where he provided essential aid to agricultural communities.

At PDS, Christian co-leads grant projects for clients seeking state and federal funding, ensuring compliance with agency requirements while integrating community benefit strategies. His expertise in historical research, technical writing, and stakeholder engagement supports PDS’s mission of delivering high-quality, impactful project development solutions. Kristen Krafthefer

Kristen Krafthefer is a Grant and Proposal Development Specialist at Project Development Solutions (PDS), where she co-leads the development, writing, and submission of grants, Community Benefit Plans, and bid proposals to federal, state, and private funding agencies. With a strong background in process improvement, inventory management, and quality control, Kristen brings a strategic approach to optimizing funding proposals and operational efficiencies.

Before joining PDS, Kristen served as the Quality Improvement and Special Projects Manager at General Production Service, where she managed audits, published operational metrics, led process improvement projects, and implemented inventory control procedures. Her efforts significantly reduced excess spending, streamlined operations, and established clear performance targets for senior leadership. Prior to that, she worked as the Distribution Services Inventory Coordinator for National Oilwell Varco (NOV), where she led process improvement initiatives, including the implementation of an enterprise resource planning system, GAINS.

Kristen is actively engaged in the energy industry, having held various leadership roles with the Association of Energy Service Companies (AESC), including serving as President of the AESC California Chapter. She also contributes to workforce development as a board member for Taft Union High School’s Oil Technology Academy, where she chairs their flagship event, Career Day. Kristen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Child, Adolescent, and Family Studies from California State University, Bakersfield. Her expertise in grant writing, process optimization, and industry engagement supports PDS’s mission of delivering impactful project development solutions.

Bonnie Sanchez

Role: Administrative Assistant

Bonnie Sanchez is an Administrator at Project Development Solutions (PDS), providing essential support in office operations, and organizational management; she ensures smooth day-to-day functions within the company.

Before joining PDS, Bonnie gained hands-on experience in administrative support and labor-intensive roles. At Bolthouse Farms, she worked as a Seasonal Laborer, assisting with payroll processing, timesheet verification, and administrative paperwork, ensuring compliance with labor records. Bonnie’s expertise includes customer service and organization. She is currently pursuing an Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts Allied Health at Taft College.
